Meet Mark

I grew up as the 9th of 10 children in Greensboro. My father was an alcoholic who beat my mother. He died when I was in the fifth grade, and I was terrified. He had been the sole provider for our household. I remember sitting on the porch wondering where I’d be in five years. Would I be in a shelter? In foster care? Would I be separated from my brothers and sisters?

A few days after my father died, my mom’s friend came by. She explained that now that her husband was gone, my mother could kick her feet up and relax because the government would take care of everything. But that wasn’t my mom. As soon as her friend left, she got up and walked over to the local university and got a job as a janitor. She had a fifth-grade education and 5 kids to provide for. She chose to clean up for other kids to provide for her own. She didn’t just rise to the challenge, she excelled. She gave a sense of calm and purpose to us. From that point on, we always had what we needed- very little of what we wanted, but always what we needed.

My mother was and always will be my hero. She showed me what strength and perseverance looked like first hand, and taught me that with, faith, and hard work, I could achieve anything.

Those early years of hardship were just the beginning of my struggles. My wife and I have endured a lot. I lost not one, but two jobs due to NAFTA. We lost homes, cars, and were even forced into bankruptcy. I remember one summer that my kids called “cold summer” where we couldn’t afford hot water, so we took cold showers. I remember lying awake at night wondering how I was going to pay the bills. But I never forgot what my mother taught me, and we never gave up.

Together my wife of over 30 years and I persevered and raised two incredible children. Now we have two amazing grand kids.

In 2018 my life changed when I gave a speech to the Greensboro city council that went viral. A year later I launched my campaign for governor and when I was elected in 2020, became the first black Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina.

As Lieutenant Governor I have had the privilege to work on a lot of issues, but my main focus has been on education. It is a passion of mine, and the reason I ran for Lieutenant Governor. I have been a vocal proponent of parents knowing what their children are being taught. I have supported providing opportunities for all students to have an education that best suites them, whether that’s in a private school, charter school, home school, or public school. I have championed workforce development programs to give students more opportunities for success after high school, and was even able to secure over $11 Million dollars in the state budget for apprenticeship programs. I have also been extremely outspoken about ensuring that our schools are safe for students and teachers.

There is so much that we need to address in this state and I look forward to sharing my vision throughout the course of my campaign for Governor.

Mark from results so far you’ve earned the honor of being elected for the Republican Party. During the upcoming months one thing I would definitely stress during your campaign is to strong urge the rest of the Republican residents in NC to vote. So far today, results are showing about 50% more Democratics voted than Republican voters. You have had a great impact so far and I strongly believe you can continue by encouraging more people to vote! Again Awesome job and thank you!

I’ve gotten tired of voting as I’ve lost all respect for politicians. I saw your video and if you’re still the same man from that video I would definitely vote for you when you run for president.

Hey Jim I can tell you Mark is a supporter of voter ID and keeping the right to vote protected from voter fraud that comes without requirements of voter ID. They are many videos of Marks stand for voter ID requirements. The videos are Mark actually speaking his stance. Thanks PLEASE GET THE WORD OUT TO PEOPLE TO SUPPORT MARK AND VOTE.

I first observed Mark in the video of his discourse with the city council. I had no idea at the time that this took place in Greensboro or even North Carolina. I am so happy that it did, and that Mark is now running for office. I can recall telling my wife at the time I watched the video, that if that guy ever decides to run for political office, he’s got my vote because he articulated so many of the things that those of us law-abiding “common folks” feel. I am also gratified to hear of his position on the economy and philosophy that made this country great. We now seem to treat capitalism as a dirty word so often, and yet it is the ONLY economic philosophy on the planet with consistent success, and that does not create an undue and usually bloated government structure of interference. We need people like Mark to speak out against the foolishness that is currently in vogue among so many, and in particular those who seem to hold so much influence over our young people. When I am questioned about who we have available as a choice in local government that supports our values, I will be speaking of Mark.

Thanks to Kevin Walker and every person who’s supporting Mark for Lt. Governor. Mark, above all others, and to the extend he’s able, will put the leash back on government and make them adhere to the NC and US Constitutions. Shrinking the size and scope of government returns the power to us as it was always intended. We cannot outsmart our Founding Fathers, who, in their wisdom and understanding of human nature, forewarned about the dangers of greedy men and big government to our Republic. Mark Robinson gets it and he will restore honor to those men who conceived this nation and brought forth the greatest nation on earth. God Bless Mr. Robinson and God Bless America!

Met Mark today in Cape Carteret. Very impressed with this courageous Conservative Republican. He spoke for 45 minutes with no notes. His beliefs and values align with mine. He’s been to 60 counties with 40 more to go. If he’s coming to a location near you, I’d encourage you to go. He has my support and vote.

I actually saw him speak and was very impressed with what he had to say. We need more people like him because the democrats certainly don’t believe in our Constitution. They are trying to destroy everything our forefathers created.
